Ok, so I was just coming home from helping a friend load up a moving truck. It was about 1am when I passed by our newly opened yesterday Krispy Kreme . There was a line going out of the parking lot, with police officers directing traffic around the lot and up to the drive thru window. At 1am. ON A TUESDAY.
They're fucking doughnuts for christ's sake. Yes I have had them. Yes they are yummy. Yes they make Dunkin Doughnuts taste like liver pate, but one simple fact remains: THEY ARE FUCKING DOUGHNUTS.
On the news they had a story about the opening. (I guess Krispy Kreme does a good job at creating a lot of fanfare for their new stores.) And they were interviewing people who were bragging about how they waited in line the night before in 10 degree weather to get doughnuts. Wow, you're a goddamn loser is what you are. If you really wanted Krispy Kreme, drive to the one in Syracuse. It's only 2 1/2 hours. Oh no, that's rediculous, but sleeping on the ground outside in February for seven hours is much more rational.
