I Spoke With an Evil, Spiteful Man

This past Sunday, a member of the Schenectady Police force was killed when he was responding to an accident call and his patrol car spun out of control and hit a telephone pole or a tree or something. I was working the next day and had not yet heard of the incident, and was talking with this guy I know who lives in Rotterdam and is a fireman for the Troy Fire Department. He was telling me about it and this other guy heard us talking and piped in;

"I hate the fucking police and that son-of-a-bitch got exactly what he deserved. They all speed around because they can, and I don't feel sorry for him."

Mind you this guy is a middle aged, white guy.

I told him that not only do I love the police, no one deserves to die. He just looked at me and said; "I don't feel sorry for him or his family. He shouldn't have been speeding and he got what was coming."

I hope that someday this guy needs the police at his house and they take their time, do the speed limit, and wait at all the red lights.
