I No Want Ronnie on Me Money.

I can't believe this is even being discussed. At first I thought it was a joke, or something being tossed around because he keeled over. I guess it's not.

The author here comes up with a good idea; create a new bill or coin.

My Thoughts:

-Coin money is stupid. Lots of people think that just because something is done in Europe, that it must be better and/or more efficient and we should follow suit. This is one case where that doesn't apply. You carry less money around when $13 weighs seven pounds instead of 2oz.
-$25 bills are stupid because that's just retarded.
-$5 coins make as much sense as $1 coins. (See above.)
-People here for whatever reason collect new coins. (People collected bicentennial coins back in '76, and I still see them in my till in 2004. There will still be Michigan quarters in circulation in 20 years. There is no reason to hoard all of them now.) If a $5 coin with Ronnie on it is ever minted, I can guarantee that none will ever be spent, and I would throw mine in the garbage anyway. (They should do what they do and mint a special commemorative $5 coin and sell it on TV for four EZ payments of $9.99)

However, Europe does have a 500 Euro note.

So, I think that if we should ever mint a $500 bill, there is no person more fitting to grace its front than Ronald Reagan.
