Old People Mess Up Everything
Pick from the below listed lifetime statistics of retired players, the ones you most believe look like a Hall Of Famers;
1)13 seasons, .324 CA, 181 HR, .532 CSLG, (same as Mel Ott) averages of .340 .381 .393 .313 .316 in consecutive years, higher career BA than Pie Traynor, Charlie Gehringer and Joe Medwick, one point behind Dimaggio.
2) 15 seasons, .304 CA, won ROY, all-star in 8 consecutive seasons, won 3 batting titles, lead league in hits 5 times
3) 12 seasons, .260 CA, .476 CSLG, 275 HR, 851 RBI, 2 MVP awards, led league in HR once, RBI twice
4) 19 seasons, .290 CA, 339 HR, 1493 RBI, 2712 hits, 1 MVP award, 3 Gold Gloves, 2 batting titles (.338, .334)
5) 14 seasons, .307 CA, 1 MVP, 1 batting title (.343 - second place with .352 once)9 gold gloves, had averages of .343, .324, .352, .327, .311, and .303 in consecutive seasons,
...ok, you can say "none" if you want because none of them are, but someone getting a big push by the Veteran's Committe is #3, Roger Maris. Look again at his numbers and ask yourself; "Why this guy and not these other guys?"
Old people should have their licenses revoked, and not allowed to vote for Hall Of Fame memebers, since they apparenty only vote for old Yankkkees who were ok (Rizzutto) and not players who were good but black. (Oliva, Jim Rice, Luis Tiant.)
by the way, the other players were Babe Herman, (how do you hit .381 and.393 and not win a batting title?) Tony Oliva, Dave Parker and Don Mattingly.
